Posted on 05. Jun, 2009 in Blog
Hopefully you’ve found this post more quickly than I found this information. Note that this information is current as of June 2009.
Here are the steps to connect an unlocked AT&T USBConnect Mercury to T-Mobile USA using a Mac.
- Insert your T-Mobile USA SIM card and plug in the stick
- Install Sierra Wireless Watcher (window should open automatically) and restart your computer
- Turn off AirPort and any other internet connections
- Open Sierra Wireless watcher and go to Preferences
- Add a new Profile with Profile Name “GPRS”
- Set the APN to wap.voicestream.com
- Set the Primary DNS to 216.155.165.050
- Delete the entries in all other fields
- Close the Preferences window
- Click Connect in the main window
Notes:
- This worked for me in OS X 10.4 and 10.5
- You won’t get 3G reception
- To unlock the Mercury in the first place, I bought an unlock code on eBay from these guys.
