And the winner of the photo contest is...

With 38% of the votes, Kristof Ramon’s portrait of Jackson Stewart and John Lelangue was the winner of my informal Flickr Cycling Photos of the Year poll. Granted, Kristof’s photo was the one that I used in my blog post and he mentioned the poll on Twitter and Facebook. So that gave him a leg up, for sure. Regardless, here’s what he had to say for himself.

Here’s my take on the soon-to-be-really-really-ugly lawsuit between Trek and Greg LeMond. Once Lance won his first Tour, there was no way that Trek could pursue the massive opportunity of its association with Armstrong without putting the LeMond line on the back burner. That’s what doomed the partnership.

I heart frame pumps

When it comes to mid-ride inflation, you’ve got three options: a frame pump, CO2, or a mini pump. In my opinion, the frame pump is the all-around best tool for the job and it actually makes me a little sad to see how few people still ride with one. I’d even go so far as to say that the frame pump reflects humility and functionality in cycling culture. Maybe I’m reading too much into this.

New work: Wordpress MU for Specialized

Getting deeper into this WordPress thing, I’ve been working with Specialized on my first WordPress MU development project: the Stumpjumper Trail Crew. The campaign features eight “ambassadors” who’ve been fully kitted out and asked to blog, tweet, lead rides, and generally promote the latest version of the Stumpjumper.
