Tumbleweeds at Interbike

In general terms, Interbike’s malaise has been attributed to a couple problems that are pretty specific to bike manufacturers. But the big change from last year to this year was the number of non-bike companies that opted not to exhibit even though they have shorter lead times and can fill small orders whenever. In other words, Interbike isn’t working for the companies that it should still be working for.

How to draw a stick figure

Ahmed Riaz is awesome at drawing stick figures – and I mean that as a serious compliment. As part of one of our big projects at BDW, he came in via Skype and showed us different ways of using very simple sketches to convey nuanced designs and emotions. Here’s my sketch for the class (working title: Buddies!) and Ahmed’s presentation.

Big changes at Kadisco

I’ve recently moved from the Bay Area to Boulder to attend the Boulder Digital Works graduate program at the University of Colorado. BDW’s project-based curriculum combines web technology, design, strategy, and business — and will allow me to continue working with clients.
