(personal)

I grew up in Newton, Massachusetts and attended the John Ward Elementary School. I always loved being on my bike, eventually got into road cycling with my dad, and decided to try racing when I was 15. My first few races didn’t go so well, but someone told me that “racing is the best training” so I kept at it and have since done lots of races that didn’t go so well.

Cycling has of course been a huge part of my personal and professional lives, but I do have some other interests – like reading The Economist and playing with my dog. What else… I graduated from Stanford University in 2002 with a B.A. in Urban Studies and live in Boulder, Colorado (for now).
